Before We Start

Pockets

  • Empty them!

Where to look

  • At the camera unless I tell you otherwise!

Not completely comfortable in front of the camera?

  • Look at your friends! This list is made up of prompts, which means less posing and more interacting. It’s about coming up with things you and your group can do, while in front of the camera!

Be Prepared to Have Down Time

  • At your group graduation photo session, we’ll be taking individual photos of each participant, in addition to photos of the whole group and smaller groups. I do individual photos back to back. That means there will be a chunk of time where you will be waiting while your friends have their photo taken. For example, if you are in a group of ten people, you will be waiting while your five friends have their individual photos taken.
  • You’ll also want to give your friends privacy as they have their individual photos taken. It can be a lot of pressure to have a group of friends watching you have your pic taken!
For group photos we will take some sitting standing walking popping champagne etc Practice some pose s together the night before and or create a Pintrest board of must have photos
I did not take these photos they are from Pintrest for inspo

solo posing Prompts

Classic look over the shoulder

  • Face away from the camera and put your right foot forward and left foot back. This will give you a lot more leverage when you’re turning back (rather than having your feet together). You want to give the idea that you’re stepping away from the camera
  • Fold your stole in half to show off one side of the stole. Grab your stole with your left hand and put it over your left shoulder.
  • Rotate your chest to the 10 o’clock position and rotate your neck (without straining) towards the camera.

The cap throw

  • Hold your cap at the corner and bring that arm down, right next your waist.
  • Next, bring your arm all the way to the very top and throw the cap in the air. You kind of want to toss and flip the cap at the same time when you release it, and you’ll want to do this with force.
  • Optional: Add a little leg kick to make your photos more dynamic.
  • Leave your arm up in the air and wait for the cap to hit the ground.
  • If you immediately put your arm down after throwing, it will look like there’s a floating cap in the photo. So, for the sake of kaitie , leave your hand up in the air!

The flutter stole (or flowers)

  • This pose looks much better a side angle/while walking away from the camera or up stairs
  • Grab your stole and hold the center (the part where your neck goes) firmly in the hand that’s furthest away from the camera.
  • Rotate your arm 180°. To give the stole that flutter effect (like a flag in the wind), you have to rotate your arm. If you just “lift” the stole, it doesn’t really do anything.

The cross-legged sit

  • Sit down and point your knees out to the side.
  • Make sure your legs are crossed at your thighs. If you’re unable to, crossing at the ankles will work.
  • Put one hand on your knee and the other directly behind you

The cap raise

  • Grab your cap with one hand and hold it at the very corner.
  • Then, raise your cap in the air and make sure to show off the top of the cap.
  • As you’re doing that, you’ll want to add a leg kick, so you’re not just standing there.

Have an arts and crafts night before the shoot and decorate champagne bottles to keep as a memorabilia forever!

Just spray paint the bottle white or colour if wanted and/or brush the bottle with Mod Podge and decorate with diamonds, glitter, tissue paper and touch up with mod podge to affix them to the bottle! you really can't mess these up!

Or! Purchase glass paint markers or paints specifically designed for glass surfaces. These paints typically require baking to set the design permanently.
